French containment specialist GTT Energy has received an order from South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean shipyard for the design of cryogenic cargo tanks on two new liquefied natural gas carriers. Each vessel will have a total capacity of 174,000 cubic metres, with the tanks fitted with GTT’s NO96 Super+ membrane containment system. Delivery of both ships is scheduled by the fourth quarter of 2029, extending the shipyard’s use of membrane-type cryogenic containment for large LNG carriers.
