Lu’an Chemical Machinery has shipped a 287-tonne, 5-metre-diameter lump-coal pressurised gasifier, described as the largest unit of its kind built in China, for State Energy Group’s Zhundong coal-to-gas project in Xinjiang. The scheme carries more than 25 billion yuan of investment and targets 2 billion cubic metres of synthetic natural gas a year, with Lu’an supplying close to 200 items of key equipment including shift converters, wash columns and methanation reactors. Such heavy vessels hinge on large-shell forming and welding.
