Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum lifted the 67.1-tonne steel dome of a new film-type full-containment LNG storage tank into place at its Yangjiawan natural gas liquefaction station on October 20, completing the key lifting operation in 122 minutes. The dome was raised 32 metres using closed-tank air-pressure differential technology, which the company says offers better safety, integrity and forming precision than conventional crane lifting. The milestone marks a major step in the tank’s main structure, with inner tank installation, piping and commissioning work to follow.
