Danish utility Kalundborg Forsyning has selected SUEZ to design and deliver a quaternary treatment stage at its central wastewater plant, pairing two ozone injection lines fed by three generators with eight granular activated carbon filters. The three-year contract also raises plant capacity and targets micropollutants discharged into the Storebaelt strait, ahead of the revised EU Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive that member states must transpose by July 2027. Digital optimisation is included to hold down operating costs.
