Egypt’s Higher Committee for Public-Private Partnership Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, has approved tendering a 900,000 cubic metre per day seawater desalination plant at Port Said and a two-phase, one million cubic metre per day plant at Suez. The committee also greenlit four industrial wastewater treatment plants serving industrial zones in Alexandria, Giza, Beheira and South Port Said, with first-phase capacities of 15,000 to 35,000 cubic metres per day. Both desalination projects fall under Egypt’s 2020-2050 strategic plan for seawater desalination.
