SIG and French dairy group LSDH will industrialise the Terra Alu-free + Full barrier carton at LSDH’s aseptic filling subsidiary JFA in Alsace, with the first commercial packs expected on French shelves before the end of 2026. The structure swaps the thin aluminium foil for an ultrathin polymer barrier and is claimed to protect oxygen-sensitive drinks for up to 12 months, while a France-specific life-cycle study puts the carbon reduction at up to 19 percent. LSDH says only minor changes to existing filling operations are needed.
